Prince Pedro Luis De Orleans E Braganca, third in line for the Brazilian throne and 35th in line for the French throne, was confirmed to have been on the missing airplane Air France Flight 447.

At age 26, Pedro stood a good chance of becoming the ruler of Brazil in his lifetime. Prince Pedro was among 228 occupants who left Paris and vanished en route to Rio De Janeiro.

The NY Times has released a partial list of passengers who were reported to be on the plane by family memebers:
