Judy Ann Scales of Sumter, S.C. and Joseph Anthony Ponds of Lodge, S.C., proudly announce their engagement.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Mrs. Margaret Scales of Sumter and the late Mr. Tom Scales. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. W.F.M. Scales of Gwinnet, GA; the late Mr. and Mrs. Johnson M. Timmons of Sumter and honorary/adopted grandparents, Mrs. Garris Norris of Sumter and the late Mr. Leon Norris.
The bridegroom-elect is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony (Lynn) Ponds of Lodge. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ponds of Islandton, S.C. and Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Felkel of Elloree, S.C.
Miss Scales is a 2007 graduate of Sumter Christian School and is currently a junior at the University of South Carolina majoring in accounting.
Mr. Ponds is a 2007 graduate of Ponds Home School and will begin classes at Midland’s Technical College in the fall, majoring in mechanical engineering. He is currently employed with Ponds & Sons Construction.
The wedding is planned for July 25, 2009 at Sumter Bible Church in Sumter.
